Open Access, Copyright, Licensing and Fees

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Leadership in Sport and Management (JLSM) is a Diamond Open Access journal. All published content is made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges, access fees, or embargo periods.

Readers may access the full text of all articles without registration or payment.

JLSM supports the principle that unrestricted access to scholarly research facilitates the dissemination, visibility, verification, and reuse of scientific knowledge.

Article Processing Charges and Other Fees

JLSM does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs).

There are no submission fees, editorial processing fees, peer-review fees, publication fees, page charges, colour charges, or mandatory charges associated with submitting or publishing a manuscript in the journal.

Access to published articles is also free of charge.

The absence of publication fees does not influence editorial decisions. Manuscripts are evaluated solely according to the journal’s editorial, scientific, and ethical criteria.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in articles published in JLSM.

By publishing in the journal, authors grant JLSM the right of first publication and the right to identify itself as the original publisher of the work.

Authors remain free to use, distribute, archive, and reuse their published work in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons licence.

Creative Commons Licence

Articles published in JLSM are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).

Under CC BY 4.0, users may share and adapt published material for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made to the original material are indicated.

The licence does not require users to obtain additional permission from the authors or JLSM for uses already permitted under CC BY 4.0.

Third-Party Material

The CC BY 4.0 licence applies to material for which the authors hold the necessary rights and which is published under that licence.

Material reproduced from third parties may be subject to different copyright or licensing conditions. Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for material that cannot legally be distributed under the article’s licence.

Where different conditions apply to particular material, this should be clearly indicated in the published article.

Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit and distribute the published Version of Record of their JLSM article in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, personal or institutional websites, research information systems, and other appropriate scholarly platforms immediately after publication.

No embargo period is imposed by JLSM.

Authors should include the article’s complete bibliographic citation and DOI when depositing or distributing the published version.

Preprints and Prior Dissemination

Posting a manuscript as a preprint does not, by itself, prevent consideration by JLSM.

Authors should disclose relevant preprints at submission. If the manuscript is subsequently published in JLSM, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with the citation and DOI of the Version of Record.

Machine Reading and Reuse

The journal’s open licence permits text and data mining and other computational reuse of published content within the terms of CC BY 4.0.

Users conducting automated access should respect reasonable technical measures necessary to maintain the security and availability of the journal’s infrastructure.

Permanent Access

JLSM aims to ensure continued access to its scholarly content through appropriate digital preservation and archiving arrangements. Details are provided in the journal’s Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy.
